“Chelmno was a place, not like Auschwitz, because Auschwitz, they took ten people for work. Chelmno wasn’t that way. You came there and you know that you have to die. There is not any other way. It was not a place to go out. They told me also there were a few making clothes for the Germans. They liquidated also them at the end. You can put on, you know that they die a day later or the same day. This is the way it was. You came, they knew so many people, they took off the clothes on the way to the forest and then the burning. And sometimes they were putting some trees whatever would be faster. This was not a lot of other camps, this was a camp only for liquidation. That was Chelmno.”
