“This picture is done in 1946, some people from our city went to see where our parents lost their lives. It’s called Chelmno. And we picked up some ashes from the bodies burned there. (Next photo) This is also Chelmno, the people there would live there. They used to take the people to the Church to come out to the back of the Church where they had to dig the graves where later on there was gas and they were burned there. (Interviewer: When were these taken?) Both of these pictures were done in 1946 at the same time, I made the picture myself.”
