The Judaica, or Jewish religious objects, in this room are themselves survivors of the Holocaust.  These artifacts of Jewish life in Europe were all once used in Jewish rituals and religious services.  Many of the objects on display here were found in Nazi depots in Germany after the war and returned as heirless property to the Jewish Cultural Reconstruction organization in New York.  From there they were distributed to various museums, libraries, synagogues and cultural institutions in the United States and throughout the world.
