Tue, 12 Jul 2011 - German Passport of Bernd Karl Israel Steinitz. Steinitz was born November 20, 1920 in Munich and escaped to New York during the rise of Nazism. He turned 18 two days after arriving in New York.

Sun, 14 Nov 2010 - "In the Quarry". Holocaust Survivor Henri Pieck's sketches reflect on his experience as a prisoner in the Scheveningen prison and Buchenwald Concentration Camp. Pieck was arrested for his resistance activities.

Mon, 01 Nov 2010 - Bavarian Certificate of Position. Issued in Munich in 1926 to Arthur SchÃ¶nberg to give the title of Landesbaurat (State Architect).

Mon, 16 Aug 2010 - Certificate issued by Allied military authorities in Hamburg. Dated 2 August 1945, it verifies that Israel Laks was imprisoned in Bergen-Belsen as a member of the Polish Home Army. He fought in the Polish Warsaw Uprising under false identity as a Pole

Mon, 02 Aug 2010 - Letter from Jurek from Buchenwald, dated 12 June 1944, to a Jewish woman, Anna Lipszyc. Jurek, a Polish policeman, helped her assume a false identity. Jurek was imprisoned on the charge of bribery. Anna Lipszyc survived the war under false identity.

Thu, 15 Jul 2010 - "Who's Who in Germany and Austria.â A two volume edition believed to be prepared by the British Authorities detailing German ranks and titles, and providing biographical and career information on Nazi-German officials as of March 1944.

Thu, 01 Jul 2010 - Call for deportation. A notice to Adele Kohn to appear at the collecting point in Theresienstadt ghetto. Her luggage must weigh at most 30 kg, and she can have at most one hand-held piece of luggage that must not include work-related items.

Tue, 15 Jun 2010 - The Book of Exodus (Shemot). Published in Wien (Vienna), 1795. The Book of Exodus is one of the oldest publications of Jewish sacramental texts in the LAMH archives.

Tue, 01 Jun 2010 - Chwila (Moment). A Jewish daily edition published in Lviv in Polish from 1919-1939. It was devoted to political, social, and cultural affairs and at its height, circulation reached 35,000 copies.

Sat, 15 May 2010 - Secure Pass (Schutz-Pass) issued to Mr. and Mrs. LÃ¡szlÃ³ Blatt by the Swedish Red Cross in Budapest on 11 October 1944, four days before the Nazis and Hungarian Arrow Cross Fascist Government resumed deportations to death camps.

Thu, 01 Apr 2010 - A letter from Meyer Salomon Susan in Westerbork Camp, Barrack 72 to Mr. M. Polack in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Dated 31 December 1943.

Mon, 15 Mar 2010 - Copy of the invitation to the Wannsee Conference from Heydrich to several police chiefs and other German top officials. This is a copy reconstructed by Israeli police after the war.

Mon, 15 Feb 2010 - Four letters in German from JÃ³zef Jonski, incarcerated at Dachau Concentration Camp, to his aunt, Bronislawa Nowak, in Lodz. Dated 16 July 1944. Jonski survived the war. His fifth letter in Polish was dated three days after liberation.

Wed, 31 Dec 1969 - Mini Torah Scroll which belonged to Bernd Steinitz. Steinitz was a German Jew who escaped to New York and was eventually recruited to work for the OSS.
