IN MEMORY: Osias "Ozzie" Goren (1922-2016)

We are sad to report the passing of LAMOTH Honorary Director Osias Goren on October 15.

Ozzie, as he was known, was an honorary director and the sixth chair of LAMOTH (then known as the Martyrs Memorial and Museum of the Holocaust). He was passionate about ensuring that the Holocaust would never be forgotten. Ozzie tirelessly and effectively advocated for the Museum, and his advocacy was critical to LAMOTH's continuity and growth. Ozzie cared deeply about the Jewish community and served in a number of leadership roles outside the Museum, including campaign chair and President of the Jewish Federation.

Ozzie is survived by his large and loving family, including his wife of 72 years, Dorothy; three children; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
May his memory be a blessing.
