Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust was honored to welcome Holocaust Survivor Thomas "Toivi" Blatt to the Museum. Mr. Blatt was one of the few to survive the dangerous escape from the death camp Sobibor. Our visitors were able to hear Mr. Blatt speak about his experiences and give intricate details about the Sobibor model he built that is on permanent display in the Museum.
Yom HaShoah 2012

The 2012 Yom HaShoah Commemoration for Holocaust Remembrance Day was a great success. All day guests participated in activities held in the Museum and Pan Pacific Park. There were children's art activities, music and dance performances, survivor talks, and museum tours. At 2:00 PM the Ceremony of Commmemoration featured Keynote speaker Yehuda Bauer, as well as Israeli Consul General David Siegel, L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and special guest Theodore Bikel.
