Share Our Stories Student Art Exhibit

Share Our Stories at Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust connects students from underserved communities with Holocaust Survivors for meaningful dialogue and artistic reflection.

This year, the Museum partnered with five schools across Los Angeles and Orange County: Animo Ralph Bunche Charter High School, Prairie Vista Middle School, Animo Watts College Preparatory Academy, Math & Science College Preparatory, and Fullerton Union High School.

After visiting the Museum and touring the galleries, the students welcomed ten different Survivors to their classrooms for conversation and questions related to this important history. Following these visits, students worked with Museum staff to create various art projects in reflection of their experiences at the Museum.

This year’s temporary exhibit features a broad array of artistic expressions: vintage, decoupaged suitcases filled with personal artifacts from each student; Survivor portraits painted in watercolor; and framed collages. Students and Survivors will be present at the opening event to share their collaborative work.
