To Look a Nazi in the Eye: A Teen's Account of a War Trial

Prolific Canadian children’s author Kathy Kacer collaborates with 19-year-old Jordana Leibowitz, a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. Jordana tells the fascinating, true story of her experience attending the trial of Oskar Groening, known as the bookkeeper of Auschwitz, possibly the last trial of its kind in Germany. Jordana wanted to serve as a witness from her generation and gain the knowledge and legitimacy to be able to stand in the footsteps of the survivors. Her experience led her into student activism dedicated to Holocaust remembrance at her Toronto university.

Presented in partnership with the Whizin Center for Continuing Education and the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles.

The event is free and open to the public. Please click here to RSVP.
