Women at the Frontline of Mass Violence Worldwide

This traveling exhibit curated by Yahad-In Unum gives voice to female survivors of mass violence and genocide. It includes portraits and excerpts of testimony from the following groups:

- Jewish female survivors of the Holocaust by Bullets in Eastern Europe

- Roma female survivors of the Porajmos, the genocide against the Roma during World War II

- Indigenous women from Guatemala, victims of the internal armed conflict in the 1980s

- Yazidi female survivors, victims of ISIS in Iraq today

By focusing on female survivors, the exhibit helps them regain their dignity while shedding light on a part of the history of mass violence that usually remains in the shadows.

The exhibit is presented in English and Spanish.
