Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust is proud to present its first Teacher Guide. The Guide is designed to support teachers in preparing for field trips to the Museum. We believe that this guide will enhance the classroom curriculum and encourage a greater depth of understanding. These materials are most appropriate for grades 9-12 but may be adjusted for other grade levels.
The Guide is divided into three sections:
Background Concepts: this section provides historical background on the Jewish people, anti-Semitism and the Holocaust;
Guide to the Museum: this section focuses on the historical events that took place between 1933 and 1945;
At School: here you can find pre- and post- visit activities suggestions. The activities will help students prepare for and reflect upon their visit to the Museum.
The Guide also includes a World War II and Holocaust Timeline and Glossary.
