Is a reservation needed to visit the Museum?

No, you do not need a reservation unless your group is larger than 15 people. Reservations are required if you would like a docent-led tour of the Museum. You must book guided tours at least 2 weeks in advance of your preferred date.

Is there a minimum/maximum number of people that I can bring for a tour?

Reservations are required for groups of 15 people or more. Because of the size of our facility, we cannot accept reservations for groups larger than 100 people. If your group is larger than 100, please contact Ilaria Benzoni-Clark, Education Director (323) 651-9925; ilaria@lamoth.org to discuss possible arrangements.

Can teachers come and see the Museum before bringing my students?

Yes! We recommend teachers come and tour our Museum before making a reservation. Tours for Teachers/Educators are available now. Please contact Ilaria Benzoni-Clark, Education Director (323) 651-9925; ilaria@lamoth.org to schedule a teacher visit.

Is there an age requirement for students visiting the Museum?

Please be advised that some of the Museum's galleries are not recommended for children younger than 12 years old because of their graphic content. We offer educational programs for 4th grade and up. The Education Department will tailor the tour to meet the needs of any group. Students below 8th grade are not guided through the most graphic areas of the Museum.

Where do we park?

There is limited free parking available in the Museum's underground parking lot, accessible from The Grove Drive. Visitors must announce their wish to park using the intercom at the driveway. Please be prepared to open your trunk and show I.D. Visitors parked more than 3 hours will be towed.

Weekend overflow parking will be directed to parking at CBS.

Visitors to the Museum may not park in the Pan Pacific Park lot on weekends.

Parking is also available in the pay parking structure at The Grove.

Upon arrival, group leaders/teachers should check in at the Reception desk. A Museum educator/docent will then escort the group to the Museum entrance for the start of the tour.

Is there Bus Parking?

Yes. There is a bus turnaround on The Grove Drive near the entrance ramp to the Museum.

Does Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust support bus transportation?

LAMH is pleased to announce a special gift to fund buses for fieldtrips to the Museum from schools in San Diego County.  We are extremely grateful to the late San Diego attorney Tom Adler for this transformative gift which greatly extends the Museum’s outreach.

Please submit a letter with the application form that explains how your students will benefit directly from the field trip and how the experience will benefit your curriculum.

For schools not in San Diego County, please download this pdf which details potential bus funding opportunities.

Is there a lunch designated area at the Museum?

Yes. If your group is bringing lunches, the Museum is located in Pan Pacific Park which has benches and picnic tables for students to enjoy their meals. However, there is not a designated area inside the museum for eating. Also, we are located on The Grove Drive, across from The Grove shopping area with easy access to numerous restaurants as well as The Farmers Market.

Are you affiliated with the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Museum of Tolerance?

We are NOT affiliated with the Museum of Tolerance. LAMH is solely dedicated to the history of the Holocaust and it is a different organization located in a different part of the city.
