The Museum works with a group of Holocaust Survivors who volunteer their time to meet students and speak about their war experience. Among our Survivor Speakers are some of the Museum’s founders. Our Survivors come from different walks of life and have experienced the Holocaust in different ways. Some of them are Child Survivors, surviving the camps or in hiding. Others are camp Survivors, and survived Auschwitz or Bergen Belsen, while some joined the Resistance. Our speakers have extensive experience in public speaking and have been involved in Holocaust education for many years. Among our Survivors are active members of associations such as the Child Survivors of the Holocaust, Los Angeles and the 1939 Club. Requests for particular speakers will be considered on a case to case basis. We do our best to match the speakers to the needs and interest of the groups.
For schools located outside the Los Angeles area, we may be able to arrange for a Survivor Speaker to speak to your class and answer students' questions via Skype.
